9. How does the Inner Party make certain it will not fall from power?

1. Julia thinks that the Inner Party is a bunch of idiots, she doesn't agree with them at all. But she knows to keep in line under their watch, but rebel in small ways, like sleeping with an Inner Party member
2. Winston finds some comfort in the prole's singing.
3. Winston is absolutely terrified of rats, they are his greatest fear. Julia doesn't really care about them, they don't affect her.
4. i don't really know this answer
5. The paper weight is a symbol of himself in the world. The coral is him and Julia and all who wish to rebel, the glass is the dome of the world in which he lives.
6. When O'Brien gives Winston his address saying he should come look at a copy of one of the Newspeak dictionaries. Winston knows O'Brien is trying to recruit him for the Brotherhood
7. They are not allowed to meet because then citizens would realize the supposed enemy are exactly like them and that they are no better off than those who they are fighting.
8. An elite group falls from power by being conquered from without; governs so inefficiently that the masses are stirred to revolt; allows a strong and disconnected Middle Group to come into being; or loses its own self-confidence and willingness to govern.
