what to eat on a diet: apple, root veggie, or brown rice cereal?

I always eat 2-3 servings of lite tofu, one bowl of cream of brown rice cereal with protein powder, 1 cup brocoli, 1 cup spinach, 1 zuchini, 1 squash, 1 carrot, 1 tomato, some baby corn, mushrooms, grapefruit & a couple apples. The question is: when I’ve had all that, what should I do with the remaining calories, more brown rice cereal, root veggies (like sweet potato/carrot/beet), or more apples?

Consider what the purpose of your diet is.

If it is to lose weight, then don’t eat any more calories if you are satiated.

It sounds like a very bland “diet” and not really nutritionally complete, so don’t intend to eat that way for long…a lot is missing.

A healthful diet will also include these: legumes (peas, beans, etc.)… seeds (sesame, sunflower, pumpkin, etc), nuts (almonds, peanuts, etc.), onions, garlic, bananas, oats, barley, kelp and herbs… and a complete vitamin.

If you are not Vegan, then definitely add fish/sea foods, eggs, dairy and turkey in small amounts for the phytonutrients they offer.

Spices, herbs, oils and other condiments play an important part in their properties and to break the monotony that will break most “reducing diets’.

The more colorful, natural, textured and varied your diet the better. Do your homework on well balanced nutrition and don’t fall for trendy diets.
