Tips for Relaxing the Keeping Cool This Summer

With summer in full swing, beating the increasingly hot heat is becoming a more difficult task. The hot weather than we get in the UK is very different to the heat abroad. Abroad the heat is more intense, however, back in the UK, it gets far more humid.

Obviously many people will want to get straight out into the sun to have fun, so having a break indoors can be nice and relaxing. But, just because your inside doesn’t mean it’s cool. So here’s some good tips for staying cool and relaxed at home.

Wear clothing that’s light weight, loose fitted and light coloured. This one is pretty obvious, dress with light weight and light coloured clothing to make sure your body doesn’t over heat. Although not everyone will like this, it’s about time you got the shorts out.

Drink lots of fluids. Drinking lots of water will make sure your body is cool and hydrated, however, ensure you drink juices as well because they keep your level of sugar and minerals up. A lot of your body’s minerals are lost via sweat so you need to replace these by drinking lots of fluids.

Use a dehumidifier. If you haven’t yet bought one, they aren’t too pricey and you really do feel the benefits of them. Dehumidifiers are used to remove water within the air to make the air around you less humid. It does this by using a thing called Silica gel, which despite the name, is a solid. Many appliances use this gel for absorbing water that’s in the air.

Stay calm and relaxed. Staying relaxed first the first few days of heat is important because it allows your body to become familiar to the heat. If you choose to run out into the sun, you will feel the effects and get much hotter and more tired quicker.

Although you don’t get a great deal of sun in the UK, those were just a few tips to help you stay cool.
