Side Bread

I am making a pasta dish for valentines day and I would like some ideas for a side dish besides bread?

my husband is very picky and I would like some ideas other than salad, also. A good tip for wine would also be appreciated.

What about prawns? like hot and spicey prawns with salad and lemon? Not too filling
