Modern Day Men’s Hair Pieces
There was a time when hair pieces were worn as a fashion statement. The more elaborate the hair piece, the better. This was way back in the Georgian and Victorian eras. Both men and women used to wear their hair pieces with pride. However, with time, the styles changed and men won’t not be caught dead with a hair piece and prefer to wear their hair naturally. Nowadays, there are men’s hair pieces that are on the market that men can wear and no one can tell it’s not natural.
Hair pieces are now made to simulate the hair as much as possible so that it looks natural. They can either be made from synthetic or 100% human fibers. The human hair pieces are usually the best quality and last longer than synthetic hair pieces. Both these fibers are different from the ones which were popular amongst the Egyptians which could even be wool or vegetable fiber.
Hair pieces differ in the quality, texture as well as color. All these features help one to choose the best hair piece that will blend well with the hair. Hair features differ from place to place and from race to race. People of African origin have black curly hair whilst those of Indian and Chinese origin have black straight hair. Europeans and Hindus have hair that is in between the two extremes and can be straight or wavy rather than curly. Manufacturers of hair pieces have put this into consideration and so can you. There are a variety of colors which range from black to blond as well as textures which range from straight to wavy to curly.
Men’s hair pieces are not only wigs. Today there are hair extensions that men can put on. Wigs can be worn by bald men or those with thin hair. Extensions can also be worn by men with thin hair, so that it appears thicker and fuller. Wigs are the easiest to wear, remove and maintain. There are other hair pieces that need to be integrated with the hair. The most common way to integrate hair pieces on men is through bonding. Bonding is usually hair adhesive to bond the hair pieces with the hair. There are numerous adhesives in use today. To remove the hair piece, there is the application of oil and heat. The heat melts the adhesive and the oil allows free flowing from the hair. There are other more expensive adhesives which do not require heating and oiling to remove the hair piece. A remover is applied which will dry up the adhesive and turn it to powder. After washing, the hair piece comes off.
Nowadays, hair pieces are not only meant for women. There are men’s hair pieces as well. Now there will be no need to worry about the thin hair on your head, as you can improve its look by using a hair piece. Hair pieces can boost your confidence and make you feel and look rejuvenated.
