Rumours Of Royal Tattoos For Will And Kate

In recent years tattoos have become much more popular, and could now be moving up to the highest seat in the UK. In the recent past, British royals have been wary of tattoos, although William’s younger brother Harry has a tattoo on his behind, as revealed during some army exercises.

It is rumoured that William and Catherine will be receiving matching tattoos some time after their wedding. Planned for their ring fingers, so normally hidden by their rings, William’s will bear a ‘K’ at the front for Kate, and in turn Catherine’s will have a ‘W’. The palm side will hold a word, apparently their pet names for each other..

With his navy background, Will is used to seeing tattoos and a few years ago it was rumoured he wanted a tattoo on his back like David Beckham, but this was vetoed by his beloved. Perhaps with the wedding day imminent, Kate is seeing the romantic side of a hidden message. Happily, William is being rather more subtle than his brother and having a discrete tattoo rather than branding his buttocks. To the rest of the world, these tattoos will be invisible as they will be covered by their formal rings when in public. It is perhaps a subtle joke at the expense of the prying press, a way of having a message on display, but always hidden from their cameras.

Who and when the tattooing will be carried out is unclear. Although they will be small, they will still have a healing period to get through and that may prove unsightly in these days of telephoto lenses and high-definition television. We’ll keep checking, and will let you know as soon as we notice anything.

Whilst we of course wish them all the best, dare we suggest that after the brilliant success of William’s parents marriage, and his uncle Andrew’s marriage, and his aunt Anne’s marriage, that they may want to look in to a nicely designed temporary tattoos rather than rushing in to permanent markings?
