Oval Tray

Oval Tray
How do I remove hardened hot glue from a finished metal surface?

Used hot glue over two years ago to attach silks and Styrofoam to an oval aluminum tray. I do not wish to further harm the surface of the tray, as I will use it for other decorating purposes. I’ve tried Goo Gone, paint thinner and acetone; the last one started to eat at the finish. Have considered trying a hair dryer to melt the glue…

Electric paint stripper or similar to heat up the glue. Be careful as the glue gets really hot. When glue molten you can scrap it off with a wooden spatula. If its an alumium tray why not heat it up in the oven.
