How would a proper old english lady excuse herself from dinner to go to the bathroom?

so i was wondering how someone from old english times (back when there were princesses and kings and queens and stuff) excuses theirself to go to the bathroom? and how would they say bathroom cause i dont think they called it a bathroom

I would think that ‘Please excuse me’ would suffice. There is no need to say where you are going. Then once they are away from the table, there are always servants around to ask. The same holds true today.
If I am having dinner out, I just say, “Please excuse me” and get up. If I don’t know where the restroom is, I will ask the host or hostess of the establishment.
