Lady Clare
Song Selection Help For My Musical?

My friends and I are writing this musical about these middle school outcasts. And I’m looking for some solos for the two characters I’m playing. We have one number, and it’s our closing. The whole cast is going to sing Bohemian Rhapsody as an ending song.

Here are my characters:

Clare Berry – Your typical b^tch. She only cares about herself and being the center of the stage. She thinks her life is a school girl fantasy. She is as talented as she is irritable though. She’s very glamorous and into the arts, regard she dresses like a mix of a toddler and an old lady.

Riley Criss – He’s a sweet loving gay teenager. He remains closeted for a while, and gets harassed every day for it. Him and Clare are actually very alike. He has a great voice, and has an eye for fashion and accessories. He’s very into Broadway and is flirtatious when he needs to be.

Ahahaha….someone reaaaally likes Glee….don’t worry, I do too. A lot. No, really. It’s awesome…moving on.
What about some Warblers covers? A cover of a cover? I really liked Blackbird….I cried(All Beatles songs are good). And then, any other songs off Glee. Other good songs might be something by OneRepublic, or if you want Broadway, what about Phantom of the Opera or Wicked? Something everyone (your audience) knows will be more fun for them, trust me.
Thinking about it, there are tons of good duets in Wicked. Here’s a link to some ideas: http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20100503151447AAIDV0Z

I REALLY hope this helps, and wish I could watch you all perform, haha…
