My homebrew wine has been fermenting for three days. Should I add more sugar?

It’s in a gallon size jug, and is still bubbling a lot.
I’ve heard from some people that you should add sugar every day or so, but others say to just leave it be.

It depends on the recipe. For really strong wines, you normally add sugar stepwise so too much sugar at one time does not overwhelm the yeast. However, you run the risk of adding so much sugar that the alcohol content rises to the point of killing the yeast and you are left with strong, sickly-sweet wine. Another problem is the chance of contamination each time you open the fermenter. In any case, I would not add more sugar while the wine is working vigorously. If you do add more, wait until the bubbling slows.
