Gold Oval
How can identify the maker and time period of this platter?
My grandmother has a platter she picked up from a garage sale and she wants to know more about it. It’s a large (2′ by 1′ oval) turkey platter with a hand painted turkey on it. It’s a gold-colored turkey on a brown background. She thinks it’s very old.
These are the only markings on the back (there is no maker’s mark):

I don’t know what any of these numbers or letters mean and was wondering if someone could tell me if they recognize them as markings of a certain company or a certain time period. I wish I had pictures to show you, but I haven’t been able to get any yet. Any ideas with just the info I’ve been given?
The a probably wore off and it’s supposed to say “in italy”
Serial numbers a pretty recent development so I don’t think the platter could be really that old. Truly old pottery would just have the makers logo. The colors sound kinda late 70′s but at the same time gold and brown are really common for Thankgiving so that isn’t conclusive.
The only way to know for sure is to take it to an antique’s appraiser.
