Why does the narrator in Robert Frost’s “Mending Wall” tell his neighbor to “eat the cones under his pines”?
A. To make him jealous because the narrator has apples to eat.

He doesn’t tell him to eat the cones under his pines. The narrator tells his neighbor that the narrator’s apple trees will never get across and eat the cones under his neighbor’s pines. And he does it to get him to see the silliness in always repairing the wall.
