Are there any reliable websites to help estimate the worth of your antiques?

My grandmother recently passed down two really pretty (some where around a hundred years old she believes) Royal Doulton Plates. Both are gold fillagree, and have paintings on them. One of a Serimione Castle, and the other of Santa Calerina. I have figured out where these places our, but I have no clue where else to look to figure out estimates of the prices or anything. I have tried royal doultons website, I tried searching the artist (J.H. Planh) but I cant find anything. Can anyone help? (this dose not mean I want to sell, I just want to know there worth)

look online at the big auction houses like christies and most will have a way to get a generic appraisel from them. You’ll have to take a picture and fill out a form and it will take weeks to a couple months to get a reply, but this is a great way. Also, you can search completed auctions on ebay to see if you can see something similar on there. If you do sell…might want to try an auction and make sure you list everything about the pieces including marks. Then it should go for what it’s worth as the collectors will know what you have.
