Can someone explain to me how it is possible that human warming has reversed 2000 years of Arctic cooling?
Borehole temperature record is not a proxy, but a direct
measure of temperature. From Dahl-Jensen et al. 1998 we know that at least Greenland was a couple of degrees warmer that today during the MWP.
Did the The National Center for Atmospheric Research study account for the Dahl-Jansen study? How is it possible that just Greenland be a couple of degrees warmer than today for hundreds of years and the rest of the Arctic be cooler?
Agreed Dana. It was one degree. I Was confused with the Holocene optimum which was 2.5 degrees warmer. But clearly the graph you provided in a previous questions shows current Arctic temperatures way higher. So the point of this question still stands.
Dana: BTW. Temperatures have not risen anyway near one degree during the last decade anyways.
The key problem with people who make such claims is that to them their political/religious view has more value than scientifically accurate evidence does. So what we are faced with here is a violently evangelistic religion that will say anything or do anything to give their religion more political power in the world. So they will say that co2 is a major cause of warming or change when scientific evidence clearly shows that dry co2 is not capable of any such contribution unless there is sufficient water vapor to provide this action on its own.

Scientific evidence that it was the suns high activity over 150 years that added 100ppm of co2 to the atmosphere. 150 years of human activity has added less than 5ppm
