Chase England

Chase England
Will the weather forecast influence England’s 3rd innings declaration decision?

The forecast is overcast today but thunder and rain for tomorrow.

Do you think this will influence England’s decision for how long to bat?

What would you do? Declare now with your 400 run lead and hope you can bowl them out and that the forecast is right and India don’t have 2 full days to chase 400 runs. Or play it safe and bat for a session or two to push for a 450-500 run lead and risk a rain affected draw if the forecast is correct.

I would say get about 450+ at least if possible and then declare. Its not wise to gamble on just 400 and if you are giving them more than 1 day to bat.
