How do I get tickets to attend Wagner’s operas in Bayreuth?

Hi there. Well, this I do know: first, I need to be part of a so-called Wagner Society –or something to that effect– before I get my hands on any tickets to go to Bayreuth in Germany. I also know there is a waiting list… an 8-year long waiting list.
Where are those Wagner Societies? How does one get into them? To whom can I write a letter, send an e-mail?

Hmm dunno about the tickets. My sister studied in Bayreuth university a few years ago and when we went to visit her, we just went into to visit the Opera house. I think there was a simulation of what a performance sounds like. not as good as the real thing. Apparently its the only opera house in Europe to have perfect acoustics. Anyway I will ask my sister if she can find out for you. Hope that helps x
