I have a painting signed by artist stanley.. would like to know the artist first name and what state and era?

The painting is goldish in color and quite dark..is oil on canvas..it is large and framed..the signature is signed Stanley nothing else is in the painting..2 of the tree’s are close..the other is off in the back ground. The tree’s look like a Y..with very few leaves..the painting was given to me by someone who lives in Vermont..the canvas is stretched and stapled.. not sure if that is how it came originaly…would like to know more about the artist and other works he/she might have..Thank you!
