Which book would you recommend from my summer reading list?

My English teacher gave me a list of books to read this summer. which one(s) are good or interesting?

The Catcher in the Rye is a bit like ‘A clockwork Orange’ was for the movie industry …Better as an investment for people such as Bibliophiles rather than people who read for enjoyment.

You can’t go past a novel like; Life of Pi – Yan Martell.
This book is like ‘Lord of the Flies’ for grownups. It’s a terrific tale and it has relevance for how stories are portrayed in the media so they seem like they could’ve happened because the truth is so unbelievable.
